Accounting for Galway’s mix of industry, tourism and creativity
Galway is home to one of Europe’s best-known medical-device clusters, a strong tourism and hospitality trade from Salthill to Connemara, and a large community of artists, designers and freelancers. East Galway towns such as Tuam, Athenry and Ballinasloe add farming, trades and family-run retail to the mix.
Many of our Galway clients are contractors in medtech and engineering, or people returning home after years working abroad. Both groups need careful handling of company structures, foreign income and residence rules, and we explain those clearly before anything is filed.
Medtech & engineering contractors
Limited company set-up, director tax returns and planning around salary and dividends.
Tourism, hospitality & holiday lets
VAT, seasonal payroll and short-term let income declared correctly.
Creatives & freelancers
Registering as self-employed, expenses and preliminary tax made simple.
Returning emigrants & non-residents
Residence rules, foreign income and tax clearance on Irish property.

Why Galway Clients Choose Fuchsia Bell
Choosing an accountant is about more than filing returns. You need someone who knows your business and tells you what to do before the deadline, not after it.

Fixed monthly fees
One agreed monthly price for the work you need. No hourly billing and no surprise invoices at year end.

Accountants in Galway: Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have an office in Galway?
No. We are based in Co. Kerry and serve Galway clients fully online. You deal directly with a Fellow Chartered Accountant, without paying for a city-centre office.
I’ve just started freelancing in Galway. What do I need to do first?
You need to register as self-employed for income tax with Revenue, keep records of income and expenses, and plan for preliminary tax. We can handle the registration and set up simple bookkeeping for you.
I’m moving back to Galway from abroad. Can you help with my tax?
Yes. We review your residence position, any foreign income or pensions, and how property you hold abroad or in Ireland is treated, so your first Irish return is correct.
I let a cottage in Connemara to tourists. How is that taxed?
Holiday and short-term letting income is taxable rental income, even when it comes through a booking platform. We calculate the tax and claim the expenses you are entitled to.
How are your fees worked out?
After a free 30-minute business check, we agree a fixed monthly fee based on the services you need. You know the cost before any work begins.
