Tax, accounts, VAT, payroll and bookkeeping for Listowel farmers, shops, landlords and sole traders, from a Fellow Chartered Accountant who knows North Kerry.
Fuchsia Bell is a Kerry chartered accountancy practice run by Ger O’Connor FCA from Lassaboy, Boolteens, about 45 minutes from Listowel. Most of our North Kerry clients never need to make the trip: documents are shared securely online, engagement letters are signed digitally and Ger is a phone or video call away. In-person meetings are available by appointment.
Listowel is the market town for one of the strongest farming regions in the country, and much of our work here is with farm families, agri-food suppliers, retailers on The Square and Church Street, tradespeople and landlords with holiday homes in Ballybunion. Every client gets a fixed monthly fee and one point of contact.

Listowel’s economy rests on the land. Dairy and drystock farms across North Kerry supply a large dairy processing industry, and the town’s shops, merchants, co-ops and contractors depend on how the farming year goes. We prepare farm accounts, plan for good and bad milk years and advise early on succession, so passing on the farm is planned rather than rushed.
Listowel is also a festival town. Writers’ Week in early summer and the Listowel Races in September bring visitors to pubs, restaurants and guesthouses, and Ballybunion’s beaches fill holiday homes every summer. We plan VAT, payroll and cash flow around those busy weeks, and explain every rule in plain English before anything is filed.
Farm accounts, income tax returns, stock relief and planning that holds up in good and bad milk years.
Agricultural relief, retirement relief and CAT planning when land passes to a son or daughter.
Bookkeeping, VAT on stock and staff payroll for shops on The Square, Church Street and William Street.

Accounts, payroll and CT returns for hauliers, merchants and suppliers working with the dairy industry.
Company set-up and tax returns for people who live in North Kerry and work for clients across Ireland.
The dates North Kerry farmers and business owners ask us about most. We track them all for you and file early, so nothing slips while you are busy on the farm or in the shop.
Farmers and sole traders file their Form 11 and pay last year’s balance and this year’s preliminary tax by 31 October. Filing on ROS usually extends this to mid-November.
VAT-registered farms and businesses file VAT3 returns by the 19th of the month after each two-month period, or the 23rd on ROS.
Each pay run is reported to Revenue on or before the pay date, even for part-time staff, with PAYE paid monthly by the 14th, or the 23rd on ROS.
A company’s CT1 return and balance of tax are due on the 23rd day of the ninth month after its year end.
The B1 annual return, with financial statements attached, is due within 56 days of your company’s annual return date.
Selling land, a site or a holiday home? CGT on gains from 1 January to 30 November is due by 15 December, and December gains by 31 January.

Yes. We look at Capital Acquisitions Tax, agricultural relief, retirement relief and stamp duty together, so you see the full tax picture before land changes hands. Agricultural relief can reduce the taxable value of farmland by 90% when the conditions are met, and planning early makes the biggest difference.
Yes. We prepare farm accounts from your mart dockets, co-op statements and bank records, claim capital allowances and stock relief where they apply, and file your Form 11 on ROS before the deadline.
Income from holiday and short-term lets is taxable rental income, even when it comes through a booking platform. Rent-a-room relief does not cover short-term guests. We work out what you owe and which expenses reduce the bill.
You must register once your turnover exceeds, or is likely to exceed, €42,500 for services or €85,000 for goods in any 12-month period. These are the thresholds in place since January 2025. Farmers have their own VAT options, so we check which approach suits your farm or business before you register.
Yes. We manage the handover, collect prior-year records and link ourselves as your tax agent on ROS, so nothing falls between the cracks.
Yes. We review the letter, check the figures and deal with Revenue on your behalf, whether it is a query, an incorrect assessment or an audit notice. The sooner you send it to us, the more options there are.
No. Most North Kerry clients work with us entirely online, sharing documents securely and signing engagement letters digitally. If you prefer to talk face to face, Ger can meet you by appointment at our office.
