Farm accounts, tax returns and succession planning for Kerry farmers, from a chartered accountant who grew up in Castlemaine.
Fuchsia Bell is based at Lassaboy, Boolteens, on the Castlemaine side of Tralee, in the middle of Kerry farming country. We help dairy, beef, sheep and mixed farms across Co. Kerry.
Farm tax has its own rules. Stock relief, income averaging, flat-rate VAT and farm partnerships can save thousands, but only if they are set up and claimed correctly. We handle the paperwork so you can stay on the land.

Annual accounts that show your real profit, including grants, stock changes and machinery.
Filed on ROS before the deadline, with every farm relief claimed.

Passing the farm on with retirement relief, agricultural relief and the right timing.

| Relief | What it does |
|---|---|
| Stock relief | Reduces taxable profit by 25% of any increase in stock value. Higher rates apply to young trained farmers and registered farm partnerships. |
| Income averaging | Spreads farm profit over 5 years, so one good year does not push you into the 40% band. |
| Capital allowances on farm buildings | Write off the cost of sheds, yards and fencing over 7 years. |
| Farm safety equipment | Accelerated allowances on qualifying safety equipment, extended to 31 December 2029 in Budget 2027. |
| Succession Farm Partnership credit | Rises from €5,000 to €10,000 a year in Budget 2027, and the three-year holding period is removed. |
| Agricultural relief (CAT) | Cuts the taxable value of farm land and buildings by 90% when a qualifying farmer inherits or is gifted them. |
| Retirement relief (CGT) | Can remove CGT when you pass the farm to a child or sell it, within age-based limits. See our retirement relief guide. |
